A day at Ông Đề village: an itinerary for families with young children
In this post · 5 sections
Ông Đề village has everything for the whole family to stay a full day: a water play area, folk games, Cô Tư’s bánh xèo and rows of wooden rooms in the garden. But with young children, doing more is not always more fun; what matters is the pace. Here is a suggested itinerary so everyone gets enough play without wearing out.
Morning: water play while it is still cool
Arrive early and take the children to the water play area first, before the sun gets strong. There are challenge bridges for older kids and a clean pool for the whole family.
Mid-morning: folk games under the thatched roof
Tug of war, sack race, flour-face games… parents and children can all play. Let the kids pick the game while adults join the team and cheer: this is usually when the family laughs the most.
Lunch: bánh xèo and a nap
Stop by Cô Tư’s bánh xèo kitchen so the family can watch the pancakes being made and have lunch. After lunch, a day room lets the children nap while adults have a place for their bags and a rest.
Afternoon: stroll, take photos, head home
When the sun softens, stroll around the Mekong Delta scenery and the riverside wooden rooms for family photos. If everyone wants to stay longer, switch to an overnight stay and walk the gardens the next morning.
