Folk games at Ông Đề village
Monkey bridge, tug of war, sack race, blindfolded duck catching, bamboo bridge walking: childhood games of the river delta, played in teams among coconut gardens and ponds.
Why try them
Folk games are part of everyday life in southern Vietnam: they take a little skill, plenty of team spirit and always come with laughter. At Ông Đề these games are kept as part of village culture, for children and adults alike.

Monkey bridge
A colourful bridge spans the pond and bounces with every step. Players try to keep their balance as long as possible; whoever slips takes a splash while the whole group laughs. No special skills needed, just a willingness to play.
Tug of war
A favourite team game at village festivals. The group splits into sides and pulls together, and players and supporters alike get fired up.
Sack race
Climb into a sack and hop to the finish before your rivals. Simple yet lively, perfect for team activities and for children.
Blindfolded duck catching
A typical river-delta game often played at village festivals and events. The blindfolded player follows the quacking while everyone shouts directions, and the atmosphere is electric.
Bamboo bridge walking
The bamboo "monkey bridge" recalls the daily life of southern villagers in the old days. Crossing it takes care and a good sense of balance.
Playing as a group
Folk games are the heart of the village’s group programmes for schools, companies and groups of friends. See what tickets and group programmes include and their prices on the tickets page, or send your group size for a quote.
